Perhaps no one looked the part of future big-time college football player this week at Arkansas High School Camp as much as Baton Rouge, La., Southern Lab linebacker Chris Allen.
Allen (6-4, 233) - whose offers include ones from Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Texas - has a chiseled physique that already looks ready for SEC action.
He wanted to see what Arkansas was all about and did so with five teammates.
"Everything stood out here,” Allen said. “The facilities, the landscape, the practice fields, I mean, it's nice out here. Real nice. I liked the weather and the hills, too. It's just real nice."
His relationship with Razorback head coach Bret Bielema is in its infancy state.
"I'm just now getting to know him as a person and stuff, so we're still building our relationship,” Allen said. “But I like him a lot, he's a cool coach.”
Allen has already had a busy June.
"I went to Georgia, Alabama, LSU and now here to Arkansas," he said. "Now I'm headed to Colorado next. I believe we're going to pass through Oklahoma and probably Kansas, too."
He is in no hurry to make a decision.
"I'm not at the point where I'm going to decide to commit yet. I plan on doing it in the middle of my senior season or even towards the end."
Arkansas is now solidly in the mix to get one of his five official visits
"Oh yeah, definitely,” Allen said.
