An Arkansas target in both football and basketball have set a timeline for when a decision will come.
Both Arkansas football and basketball could get news from recruiting targets, but in the case of football they will have to wait maybe longer than expected. The basketball decision will likely come sooner rather than later.
In football, Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough 4-star cornerback Ken Montgomery Jr. has canceled his unofficial visit for Arkansas this spring. In addition he won't be making an early commitment to the Hogs or anyone else. Montgomery said on Twitter he will commit one time only and that will be on National Signing Day.
Despite canceling the unofficial visit that isn't as bad news as it might sound.
"I canceled my next visit with Arkansas this spring due to other schools<" Montgomery said. "Recruiting is getting busier everyday and it's going to be a head win wherever I end up at."
Since you canceled the scheduled visit to Arkansas you had planned are you still considering the Hogs?
"Oh yeah of course," Montgomery said.
Due to so many offers, Montgomery has decided to spend his time visiting different schools instead of ones he has already been to. Montgomery has 31 offers and spent four days at Arkansas last season the week of the Florida game. His Crystal Ball has one pick and it's for the Hogs.
He is a 4-star with a grade of 89 with the 247Composite.
Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial Class of 2017 4-star guard Zhaire Smith took an unofficial visit to Arkansas on March 4 to watch them beat Ole Miss. He was offered a scholarship the next day.
Smith visited Texas officially last weekend and has another trip set for this weekend. A decision could soon follow.
"Texas Tech this week," Smith said. "Then after that I'm looking forward to make decisions after that."
Are you still considering Arkansas?
"Yes," Smith said.
