Otis' Sunday Arkansas Razorback Football Recruiting Chatter

Arkansas hosted at least seven recruits on Saturday and handed out a couple of offers.

Arkansas hosted some more talented recruits on Saturday. Hawgs247 has confirmed seven recruits who were on unofficial visits.

The Arkansas coaches took the opportunity to extend scholarships to at least two of the visitors. Bentonville (Ark.) West Class of 2019 wide receiver Jadon Johnson and Dayton (Ohio) Dunbar Class of 2018 4-star wide receiver Joseph Scates both were offered.

The other visitors spotted by Hawgs247 were Star City (Ark.) Class of 2018 offensive tackle Jax Gasaway, Houston (Texas) Second Baptist 3-star Class of 2018 offensive tackle Victor Curne, Ashdown (Ark.) Class of 2018 3-star cornerback LaDarrius Bishop, Fayetteville (Ark.) Class of 2017 offensive guard Ty Clary and Class of 2017 outside linebacker Hayden Henry.

Scates now has 17 offers according to his 247Sports profile. His Crystal Ball is favoring Alabama. The talented Scates decommitted from Michigan State on Feb. 28. Alabama offered him on Feb. 26. At 6-foot-3, Scates is hard for a defensive back to handle. He is the No. 148 recruit in the Top247 and No. 5 recruit in Ohio. He has a grade of 93 with the 247Composite.

Johnson also holds an offer from Tulsa. The speedster ran a 10.7 in the 100-meter dash recently. He was part of a program that played its first year of varsity football this past season.

Bishop has 10 offers including one from the Hogs. On Friday, Illinois became the latest school to offer him. His cousin, Montaric Brown, inked with the Hogs in February. Others who have offered are Oklahoma State, Baylor, Arkansas State, Purdue, Mississippi State, Memphis, Louisiana-Monroe and Iowa State. Bishop's Crystal Ball is favoring the Razorbacks.

Gasaway is a big offensive lineman who has seven offers. Among his offers are Central Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Marshall, Louisiana Tech and Texas State. He is friends with Arkansas nose guard Austin Capps from the same high school.

Curne holds offers to Minnesota, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU and Utah. At 6-foot-5, 325-pounds he passes the eye test. He has a grade of 87 with the 247Composite. He's the No. 57 recruit in Texas in 2018.

Henry and Clary will be true freshmen at Arkansas in the fall. Both are talented players who should have a bright future with the Hogs.
