Arkansas is entering its fourth week of spring football. Each Saturday they have hosted some recruits and the upcoming one won't be any different.
Among the recruits expected at Arkansas on Saturday is Fordyce (Ark.) defensive lineman Billy Ferrell. On April 10, he picked up offers from both Colorado State and Central Arkansas. The Hogs haven't offered but continue to evaluate.
Chicago Marist 3-star defensive end Gavin McCabe told Badger247's Evan Flood he will be at Arkansas this weekend. He recently visited Wisconsin and was at Indiana's spring game this past Thursday.
Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside Class of 2019 linebacker Darin Davenport also plans to visit on Saturday. Muskogee (Okla.) defensive back Kamren Curl, who signed in February, will also visit on Saturday.
San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty 3-star defensive end Nick Alfton committed to California on March 29. However, he has since taken a visit to Boise State who offered him on March 30 and now is at Arkansas. He plays for former Razorback Keith Burns, who later was defensive coordinator for the Hogs. He was also offered by Colorado on April 15.
Hunt For Point Guard
Arkansas hosted North Farmington (Mich.) Class of 2017 point guard Amauri Hardy this past weekend. He left on Saturday. Hardy said the visit went well and was very impressed, but he said he isn't ready to make a decision.
"I want to take some more visits," Hardy said. "I am not sure when I will make a decision or who I will visit."
He committed to Oklahoma State on Dec. 9, but then decommitted on March 30 when the head coach left for another job. As a senior, Hardy averaged 29 points, six rebounds, six steals and four assists per game. He tweeted about his Arkansas visit on Sunday.
The Hogs are hosting Canadian point guard Shakwon Barrett for an official visit now. Barrett holds an offer from Tulane and is being recruited by the Hogs and Michigan as well as others. Barrett previously played at Findlay Prep in Nevada before returning to Ontario this year. He is a Class of 2017 recruit. Some reports had him visiting Michigan this past weekend. He is also supposed to visit Tulane after leaving Arkansas.
