The University of Arkansas will replace the postponed North Texas game, originally scheduled for Sept. 15, with an Oct. 6 game vs. Weber State at 6 p.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark.
Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles announced the arrangement on Saturday morning. The Arkansas vs. North Texas game was postponed in conjunction with a decision by the Southeastern Conference to not play scheduled games on the weekend following the tragic attacks on New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania on Sept. 11.
"We are very pleased with the cooperation of North Texas in finding a workable solution to allow us to play on one of our open dates," Broyles said. "Our thanks go to athletic director Rick Villarreal and his staff for their help. We have reached a financial settlement with North Texas which allowed us to schedule Weber State."
Weber State is a Division I-AA school from Ogden, Utah that competes in the Big Sky Conference. The Oct. 6 game will be the first meeting between the two schools in football.
