Dominic Fletcher was named a second-team Freshman All-American by the National College Baseball Writers’ Association, the organization announced Monday.
It is the second postseason honor for the centerfielder from California, as he was also selected to the SEC’s All-Freshman team by the conference’s coaches.
Starting 56 games for the Razorbacks, Fletcher hit .291 with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs. He caught fire down the stretch, batting .356 and hitting half of his long balls during the final 18 games of the season.
Fletcher’s home run total was one shy of tying Zack Cox’s freshman record of 13 set in 2009.
He is the first Arkansas player to earn Freshman All-American honors since Keaton McKinney in 2015 and the 19th in school history.
