Gooden chooses Arkansas

Arkansas landed its seventh commitment Sunday.

On a day centered around the big boys in the trenches, Arkansas got some good news for its future defensive line on Sunday.

Although he didn't participate in the Razorbacks' "Trench Hogs" camp, Independence (Kan.) C.C. three-star defensive lineman Emmit Gooden announced he was committed to Arkansas.

In his tweet, Gooden mentioned that he "can't wait" to be "causing damage" with current Arkansas defensive end McTelvin Agim, who hosted Gooden on his official visit this weekend.

As a freshman, he racked up 55 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles and one recovered fumble. He is a midterm graduate who will have three years to play two at Arkansas.

The Razorbacks beat out several big-time programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Louisville, Oklahoma and USC.

Gooden is the seventh commitment in Arkansas' 2018 class.
