"Brandon is definitely out this week," Nutt said. "We will not know until later his status for next week. He is in a boot cast right now. I hate we won't have him this Saturday because he was playing really well for us."
Although somewhat limited by practicing indoors today, the Hogs continued their preparations for the ninth-ranked Gamecocks.
"Some of the guys like Fred Talley who have had knee surgery have to be very careful on the artificial turf. He probably only went about 50 percent today. But, we were still able to get some good work in today. We are still working at eliminating the penalties and turnovers that have cost us big plays."
Nutt added the Hogs will be in store for a variety of schemes from the South Carolina defense this Saturday, which he compared to Mississippi State defensive coordinator Joe Lee Dunn's.
"South Carolina gives you a lot of different looks on defense," Nutt said. "There is a lot to prepare for because they are like Mississippi State's defense. Sometimes it's a three-man front or an eight-man front. They try to keep you off balance and they do a good job of it."
The Razorbacks and Gamecocks are slated for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff from War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock this Saturday. The game will be nationally televised by CBS.
