UCF QB One to Watch

Sophomore quarterback Ryan Schneider was named the USA.Today.com independent player of the week for his 13-of-22, 273 yard and three touchdown performance in UCF's 57-17 win over Akron last Saturday night.

It marks the third time this season Schneider has garnered the honor. Schneider, who did not play in the second half against the Zips, led UCF to a 50-3 halftime lead.

Behind Schneider, UCF is currently ranked 9th in the nation in passing and 34th in total offense. With his 13 completions Saturday Schneider moved into fifth place on UCF's all-time completions list. He has thrown for at least 250 yards in 14 of his 16 starts as UCF's signal caller.

In other notes, speedy playmaking wide receiver Doug Gabriel did not practice on Monday as UCF began preparations for Arkansas. Gabriel, who leads the nation in yards per catch, was forced to miss last week's game due to a right ankle sprain and is listed as questionable for this week's matchup with the Razorbacks.

Kickoff for this week's game is set for 2 p.m. from Arkansas' Razorback Stadium.
