Hogs Have Won 5 of Last 6 Against Dawgs

Mississippi State will make its second trip ever to Fayetteville, Ark., for a football game this weekend, taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday. Kickoff time is slated for 1 p.m. CT at Reynolds Razorback Stadium on the UA campus.

MSU (2-6, 1-5 SEC) will be looking to break a two-game skid in the series with Arkansas (6-3, 3-3 SEC). In fact, UA has won five of the last six meetings between the teams, including a 17-10 overtime upset of the Bulldogs last season in Starkville. The overall series is tied 5-5-1.

Since starting the season 1-3, the Razorbacks have reeled off five consecutive victories, including wins over South Carolina, Auburn and an NCAA-record, seven-overtime thriller at Mississippi.

Being the team with the better overall record in this series has not been a positive during the last five years, as the squad in that position has lost every game since 1996.

Following Saturday's game, MSU will return home for its final two games of the 2001 campaign. The Bulldogs will host arch-rival Mississippi on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 22, at 6:30 p.m., a game that will be televised nationally by ESPN. State will close out the regular season by hosting eighth-ranked Brigham Young on Dec. 1. Time for that game will be announced next week.
