"I committed to Arkansas yesterday morning," said Matt Harris.
When asked what made him choose the Razorbacks, Harris left little doubt that is
where he wanted to be all along.
"Well my dad was born in Fayetteville. My step mom went to Springdale. I've
been going up there since I was two or three years old. Arkansas is like my
second home. The fans up there are great. The coaches are top notch. The
environment can't get any better than Arkansas; it's just great up there. It's
in the middle of the mountains, and it's just awesome.
At 6-2 and 176 pounds (measured this weekend at Arkansas' camp) Harris will
likely play safety after spending his junior season at corner. He ran a 4.7
forty at Arkansas' camp and had an extremely impressive 4.14 shuttle time.
"They're recruiting me to play safety. I played corner last year, and I may
play some safety next year. I only played six games, because I broke my arm in
the homecoming game."
Having to watch the rest of the season after a good start last year, Harris is
more than ready to get back to the gridiron this season for Pearce.
