McGowan Ponders His Decision

Mississippi prep power forward Cyrus McGowan slows down on making a decision after visiting Fayetteville this past weekend.

Because of a visit to the University of Arkansas last weekend, the Cyrus McGowan decision train is slowing down.

The 6-9, 235-pound power forward from Meridian, Miss., said he is not sure now when he will make up his mind, but it won't be this week as he had previously thought.

He has now visited Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Arkansas.

"I just can't say when I am going to make a decision now, but it won't be this week for sure," McGowan said. "I've got a lot of things to think about and no one is leading."

McGowan found plenty of things to his liking in Fayetteville.

"It went really well," McGowan said. "I really liked how the players played on the court and also loved the way they bonded off the court.

"I really like the coaches as well," McGowan added. "They kept it real. They let me know the things I need to hear, what I need to work on and things like that. You don't get that much and I really liked the fact that they did that. That really impressed me."

Arkansas is poised for a breakthrough season after two subpar seasons.

"They feel really good about their team and their program for the future," McGowan said. "They've got good reason to. I am very impressed."
