Arkansas Athlete Picking Up More Offers

Ben Owens is a LB prospect that's beginning to pick up more and more offers as the year goes by. He names 7 finalists.

"I like Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Memphis, Miami, Vanderbilt, Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe. I have offers from Arkansas, Arkansas St, Vanderbilt and Louisiana Monroe," Ben Owens said.

What has placed those schools on his list?

Oklahoma State: "Well, I like the athletic program and I had cousin who went there named Kevin Williams. He really got me to liking it."

Arkansas: "It's the hometown team. They have great fans, it's a great place to play in and they have a good coaching staff."

Memphis: "Basically, they were the first school who started showing interest in me. I like their team and I like their defensive scheme."

Miami: "It's a great place to play in and they produce good athletes and all around players.

Vanderbilt: "Great school academically and the program is turning around. They're coaches are very nice and they are really showing a high interest in me."

Arkansas State: "That's a hometown school. I like the running backs coach and I've got a lot of friends that go there. They are trying to pull me that way.

Louisiana-Monroe: "It's another nice place that's close to home. They have good coaches and I feel that I fit in well with their scheme."

What is he seeking in the school of his choice?

"I'm looking for playing time, and a nice family atmosphere with the players and stuff. I'm also looking at the defensive scheme."

Does Owens have any plans for official visits at this time?

"I'll schedule official visits at the end of November. Right now though, I'm kind of putting recruiting on the backseat and just focusing on my season."

How has his senior year gone to this point?

"Were 6-3 and headed to the playoffs as the #2 seed in the conference. I have 110 tackles, 844yds rushing and 13 touchdowns."
