Cobbs Suspended From Team

Arkansas tailback Cedric Cobbs has been suspended from the football team after an arrest earlier in the day by Little Rock police for possession of marijuana and an alcohol-related offense.

Houston Nutt issued this statement through the Arkansas sports information department:

"I'm so, so disappointed in Cedric," Nutt said. "Players have a responsibility to themselves and to our team whether they are sitting on campus in a meeting room or they are at home over the semester break. They know what is expected of Razorback student-athletes. Based on the information that I have at this time, I have suspended Cedric indefinitely from the Razorback football team."

Nutt is in San Antonio at the coaches convention and could not be reached for further comment.

Cobbs was stopped in the early hours of the day in Little Rock for possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of alochol. Wednesday was Cobbs' 21st birthday.
