Hogs Line Up Visitors

Here's a list of the Hogs' recruiting visitors for the coming weekend, with a look at the other schools these players are considering.

Arkansas is set to play host to around 15 recruits this weekend including several of the top prospects in Texas.

Plano West DB-WR Vickiel Vaughn, 6-1, 183, 4.5, Longview LB Marvin Byrdsong, 6-4, 230, 4.5, Sam Houston RB John Johnson, 5-11, 185, 4.2, and Spring Westfield OL Tony Ugoh, 6-6, 290, 5.0, are just four of the Texans slated to take an official visit to the UA. Others from Texas joining them are The Oakridge School in Arlington DE Jonathan Barry, 6-5 1/2, 220, 4.6 and Bryan QB Cedric Washington, 6-1, 183, 4.3.

From Florida, the Razorbacks are set to play host to North Miami Beach OL Max Jean-Giles, 6-4, 320, 5.1, Orlando Lake Highland Prep LB Kevin Joyce, 6-3, 200, 4.6, and the Tallahassee Godby pair of OL Brian Johnson, 6-4, 300, 5.0, and OLB Edmond Myles, 5-11, 200, 4.5, as well as Palm Beach Dwyer WR Brandon White, 6-3, 180, 4.4.

The other 3 visitors at this time are Cordova (Tenn.) WR Michael Coe, 6-2, 180, 4.49, Shiloh Christian LB Wes Murphy, 6-4, 230, 4.7, and Olive Branch (Miss.) TE Blake Pettit, 6-5 1/2, 229, 4.82.

Jean-Giles is rated the state's No. 2 prospect by the Orlando Sentinel while Joyce is rated No. 49 on that same list, Johnson No. 54 and Miles No. 58.

White is No. 65. So, Arkansas is receiving visits from five of the top 65 in Florida according to the Sentinel.

Heartland Recruiting is equally high on the Texas prospects visiting the UA. Byrdsong is the No. 5 player according to David Garvin while Ugoh is No. 13, Johnson is No. 18, Vaughn is No. 27 and Washington is No. 70. Barry isn't rated, but is a very good football player and when Bobby Allen recruits and evaluates a player they usually turn out.
