Forbes' Changing Tide

Georgia prep defensive end Antonio Forbes has a new leader and a few new options.

Georgia prep star Antonio Forbes (6-4, 260) almost called off his recruiting process this weekend after an official visit to the University of Alabama.

But the Meadowcreek defensive end stopped just short of doing that.

"'I commit' was right there on the tip of my tongue, but I decided to go ahead and take my other visits and make sure," Forbes said. "But they are definitely now my leader."

Alabama turned the tide away from Arkansas, who had been Forbes leader and the only other school where he had taken an official visit.

"Arkansas has much better facilities than Alabama - much better - but Alabama is closer to my family and it feels more like home," Forbes said. "There is more to do in Tuscaloosa than there was up there in Fayetteville in my opinion."

Forbes will now visit Louisville on Jan. 14-16, Michigan on Jan. 21-23 and Florida State on Jan. 28-30.

"There are running out of spots at Alabama and want me to go ahead and commit, but I want to take these other visits first," Forbes said. "If they really want me they will keep my spot. If not I have some other great schools to choose from in Arkansas, Louisville, Michigan and Florida State."
