Now that he has had a chance to see what the new-look Oklahoma State coaching staff is all about, Vinita (Okla.) offensive lineman Noah Franklin will take one more look at the University of Arkansas.
Franklin (6-4, 295, 5.1) committed to the Cowboys back during the summer, but re-opened his recruitment when former OSU head coach Les Miles left for greener pastures at LSU.
Mike Gundy follows Miles and got his shot with Franklin this past weekend and Arkansas gets it crack with him this next weekend.
"I was impressed with what they are going to do and it was nice to meet the new coaching staff," Franklin said. "But it wasn't enough to make me not want to take the visit to Arkansas next weekend. I told the OSU coaches I was still committed, but I was very honest with them about how I was going to take the trip to Arkansas and do what is best for me as the coaches have done."
The Razorbacks finished second earlier, but have a shot to come out on top in the end with Franklin. who bench presses 330, squats 630, has a 3.75 grade point average and has also posted a 21 on his ACT.
"I want to go back over to Arkansas for an official visit, see how things match up, see where I feel more comfortable," Franklin said. "I'll do that this weekend and then make my decision."
One thing that has him excited about visiting Arkansas is the new weight room the Razorbacks are bringing on board.
"It's really suppose to be something and I am anxious to see the facility that they have been talking about so much," Franklin said. "That's certainly something I am going to factor into my decision."
Vinita is 90 minutes from Fayetteville, two hours from Stillwater.
"That's not really a factor since they both are pretty close," Franklin said. "I've just got to see whichever feels more like home and go with it."
