Bibbs All In

After making a vow to do so a day earlier, Atlanta (Ga.) Booker T. Washington defender Michael Bibbs (6-2, 210, 4.42) officially commits to the University of Arkansas on Saturday night.

Michael Bibbs has pretty much knew where he wanted to play his college football for some time, but made it official on Saturday night.

That's when Atlanta (Ga.) Booker T. Washington star Bibbs (6-3, 210, 4.42) told University of Arkansas coaches that he wanted to be Razorback and thus became the school's 18th scholarship pledge in the 2005 class.

"Yes, I am officially committed now," Bibbs noted. "I love this campus and the facilities and the coaches are like a bunch of daddies who are both going to love you and make sure yoy do what is right on and off the football field."

Bibbs, who played cornerback and had 72 tackles and 7 interceptions this season at Booker T. Washington, has been told by the Arkansas coaches that he will get his first work at outside linebacker.

They plan to have him up to 225 pounds by the time he actually hits the field.

"I'm looking forward to playing outside linebacker and making a lot of plays for Arkansas," Bibbs said. "I've certainly got the frame to put on 20 to 30 more pounds of muscle and still keep my speed."

Bibbs considered Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Alabama, but backed out of his visit to Mississippi State last week and has decided to not visit the Rebels next weekend.

"I''ve knew for a long time that this is the right place for me and now that I am here I have really enjoyed everything," Bibbs said. "The basketball game was great and the fans great and I've really enjoyed being around the coaches and players. Like I said, this is just the right place for me."

Bibbs plays at Booker T. Washington with George "Big Duke" Washington, who is also visiting Arkansas this weekend, and lives with Clemson commit Ramon "Ray Ray" McElrathbey, who visited earlier.

"I don't know what Big Duke is going to do, but Ray Ray's solid on Clemson," Bibbs said. "I know we are all going to have fun at this next level."
