Wideout Taking His Time

Damian Williams is one of the top prospects from the state of Arkansas and thus far through the process he's been relatively quiet when it comes to naming favorites. Is he ready to narrow things down just yet?

"I'm still looking at all the schools that have offered. As of today I have 19 offers. My latest offers are from UCLA, Virginia Tech, Florida and Arkansas State," Damian Williams said.

While he's not yet ready name a top five, he does have a pair of schools that he grew up cheering for.

"I grew up a fan of LSU because I was born in Monroe, Louisiana. Now that I live in Arkansas, you have to like the Hogs too."

How would he assess his strengths and weaknesses?

"I think I need to work on my overall game and putting everything together. I think I run precise routes and am a real hard worker. I just need to continue to work hard."

Is everybody recruiting him at wideout?

"The majority of the schools are recruiting me at wide receiver. Iowa offered me at safety and Arkansas and Missouri kind of said I can play wherever I choose too."

What is he looking for most in a school?

"I'd really like to go to a place where they throw the ball, being that I'm a receiver. I want a place with genuine coaches, nice facilities and a good academic program. Also somewhere I can contribute early and get a degree. I'm leaning towards majoring in business right now. I've always wanted to manage my own business."

Has Damian and his quarterback Mitch Mustain discussed the possibility of attending school with one another?

"We've discussed about going to school together. It would nice to go with someone you know, but at the same time we realize that each school may not be the same for us."

Springdale is scheduled to play in a 7 on 7 league in Los Angeles this summer, as well as making a return trip to Hoover, AL to defend their 7 on 7 championship from there last season.
