Arkansas Tight End Hicks Arrested

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas tight end Jared Hicks was arrested and cited for public intoxication by West Fork police Monday.

According to Washington County Detention Center records, Hicks, 21, was arrested at 11:24 a.m. and released at 12:11 p.m. The police report and details of the senior's arrest weren't immediately available Monday night.

Hicks is scheduled to appear in court on April 26.

Arkansas coach Houston Nutt was unavailable for comment Monday night. Hicks couldn't be reached for comment.

His arrest comes shortly after teammate Clarke Moore was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in Farmington on March 12. Hicks, who played 10 games last season despite sustaining a dislocated shoulder in the opener, caught 8 passes for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2004.

Hicks had off-season surgery to correct the dislocated shoulder, but was injured during Arkansas' first scrimmage of the spring. He practiced the entire spring, but was held out of last Saturday's Red and White scrimmage in Razorback Stadium.
