Brady Toops then single up the middle to plate Pitts for the Hogs' first run of the game. Scott Bridges followed Toops with single through the right side and each advanced a base on wild pitch to give the Hogs runners on second and third with two down. But Oklahoma worked out of the inning as Mix struck out Cliff Crouse to end the threat.

Oklahoma added to its lead when Tyler Johnson tripled home Charlie Frasier. Johnson then scored on Spencer Wyman's double to left to give the Sooners a 7-1 advantage.
The Sooners' bullpen held the Razorbacks at bay over the final five innings allowing just one hit past the fourth inning and retiring the side in order in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings.
