Griffin's Top 2

Patterson (La.) star running back William Griffin has rushed for over 1,400 yards and 25 touchdowns and will soon take a look at both of his favorite teams on the same field.

It could very well be that Patterson (La.) High standout running back William Griffin will be watching his future college team up close on Nov. 12 in Oxford, Miss.

The only question is will that be the home team Ole Miss or the visiting University of Arkansas squad?

"Those are the top two teams on my list right now and I am going to see them play in two weeks," Griffin said. "I would say I am going to end up at one of those two places."

Griffin (5-10, 197, 4.4) is a having a big-time season with over 1,400 yards rushing and 25 touchdowns. He had 320 yards in one of those games.

"Things have been going great for myself and the team," Griffin said. "I've been getting some great blocking from my offensive line and then taking care of business when I get the ball. I feel real good about our chances of winning it all this year."

Griffin, who attended summer camps at Auburn and Arkansas, has taken in a couple of college games this year involving those teams while also still having interest in UCLA and Florida.

"I went to see the Arkansas-Auburn game in Fayetteville, then the Auburn-LSU game at LSU," Griffin said. "Now I'm going to see Arkansas again when they play Ole Miss."

Griffin does not try to hide the fact that he would like an offer from Arkansas.

"I don't know what's up with that," Griffin said. "I hope I get one soon. I really like Arkansas. I am having a great year and they are (UA assistant) Coach (Clifton) Ealy is getting my highlight tape. Hopefully that will put them over the top with me. I'm averaging somewhere between 180 and 200 yards per game, scoring touchdowns. I'm hoping that's what they wanted to see."

If not Arkansas, Ole Miss has offered and will get a great look from Griffin.

"Our head coach is friends with Ole Miss' running back coach and they have called him to tell him how interested in me and how they were offering a scholarship," Griffin said. "So I guess they are number 1 or 2 on my list right now. I have never been up there, but I am looking forward to checking it out."
