Three Hogs will run in the 5,000 meters. Sophomore Alistair Cragg and UA school record holder, earned an automatic qualifying time in the 5,000 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays when he finished fourth (13:22.07).
Junior Silverus Kimeli also earned a provisional time (13:53.61) at the Mt. SAC Relays. Junior Daniel Lincoln will round out Arkansas' representation in the event with an automatic qualification from the Stanford Invitational (13:36.12).
Lincoln will also defend his NCAA individual title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Earlier this year at the McDonnell Invitational he ran the fastest time by an American this year (8:29.16).
Freshman Jason Sandfort will compete in the 10,000 meters. Sandfort automatically qualified in the event at the Penn Relays after he finished first with a time of 28:57.92.
In the 1,500 meters the Razorbacks will depend on sophomore Chris Mulvaney. Two weeks ago he out ran defending SEC champion, David Kimani of Alabama, to capture the SEC individual title. Mulvaney ran his best provisional qualifying time (3:42.34) at the McDonnell Invitational.
Sophomore Robbie Stevens earned a provisional qualifying time in 800-meter run as he finished fifth (1:46.76) at the SEC Championships in Starkville, Miss.
Two Razorbacks will compete in the 110-meter hurdles. Sophomore Michael Thomas earned a career-best and an automatic time (13.66) in the prelims of the SEC Championships. Junior Eddie Jackson improved his previous automatic time of 13.72 from the SEC Championships to 13.68 at the Reebok Invitational in Atlanta.
Two Razorbacks will also compete in the triple jump. After finishing second (54-0.00) and third (53-7.00) at the SEC Championships junior Richard Smith and sophomore Maurice Robinson will try to garner points for the Arkansas team.
The first event will begin on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. with Stevens in the prelims of the 800-meter run. Lincoln will also run in the prelims of the 3,000-meter steeplechase that night at 8:15 p.m.
