The 2002 Razorbacks received their highest ranking from Baseball Weekly/ESPN and the NCBWA which each placed the Hogs at 18th in the nation.
Collegiate Baseball ranked Arkansas 22nd in the country, while Baseball America had the Razorbacks coming in 25th.
Arkansas concluded the season with a 35-28 overall record and 13-14 in the Southeastern Conference. The Razorbacks finished fifth in the SEC Western Division and advanced to the SEC Tournament, posting a 1-2 record.
The Razorbacks earned an NCAA Regional bid for the first time since 1999. Arkansas beat Oklahoma and Oral Roberts twice in Wichita, Kan., to advance to the school's first-ever NCAA Super Regional.
Arkansas took the opening game from host-team Clemson and was within one win of advancing to the NCAA College World Series. Clemson, however, battled back to win the final two games to end the Razorbacks season.
