Casey Dick Takes it Easy

It was a bit of a strange night for number one quarterback Casey Dick at Tuesday evening's Arkansas workout. The Razorbacks' sophomore signal caller calmed any fears that injuries are bothering him on the fourth day of fall camp.

Sophomore quarterback Casey Dick probably knew the question was going to be asked, and asked in a hurry Tuesday night when he sat out the ll-on-ll portion of practice.

"I'm feeling good, just fine," he said. "The coaches told me I would be out of team tonight. They wanted to look at the others more tonight. I understand."

Dick sustained a back injury during spring drills that bothered him for the first half of the summer, but he said he wasn't even sore on Tuesday. He didn't need the time off and it wasn't even as a precaution.

"I think they are going to take turns each night giving someone a rest so that they can give a few more snaps and let the other two get into a better rhythm," he said. "When it's three, it's tough to get that."

Dick got a good look of a solid night by the defense back behind the huddle with coaches.

"It was the first night with shoulder pads and the defense brought it," Dick said. "The defense was giving us a couple of new looks, a couple of new blitzes. You kinda knew they were going to do that since we added pads. They got after us. They took it to us."

How would he evaluate his performance so far this fall?

"I think I'm doing OK, but you can always do better," he said. "I'm pleased, but at the same time I'm not really satisfied with where I am at all."
