K Kody Bliss Has Early Offers

Kody Bliss is one of the top kickers in the south this year. He has an incredibly strong leg as evidenced by his 91% touchback ratio on kickoffs, 52 yards per punt, and a personal best 61 yard field goal. Schools generally take one kicker every couple of years, and the scholarships are limited as compared to other positions, but Bliss has already garnered 3 big offers.

"I went to the Texas, Tennessee, and Florida camps this summer," said Bliss. "I have offers from Auburn, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas so far. Most of the schools are telling me that I'll get a chance to punt or place kick, and if I'm the best one at either can do the job. Auburn is talking about bringing me in to replace Damon Duval and do both for sure, and Tennessee is really the only one that wants me to specialize at one or the other. I don't really have any favorites at this point; I want to keep my options open. If I had to name 5 schools though, I would probably say Texas, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Like I said though, I'm pretty much wide open right now."

Special teams never get the recognition they deserve, but Kody Bliss is a player that can make a difference on the next level. Whether it be turning the field around on a punt, eliminating a return game, or nailing a long field goal, Bliss is a weapon.
