Robinson To Miss Game

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas defensive end Antwain Robinson will miss Saturday's game against Southeast Missouri State, and will linebacker Sam Olajubutu's status won't be known until kickoff.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Reggie Herring said Thursday that freshman Malcolm Sheppard will start at right end in place of Robinson, who hasn't practiced this week because of a hip flexor that has bothered him for the last few weeks.

"We're going to have to do without him," Herring said of Robinson, who's tied for the lead in the Southeastern Conference with 51/2 sacks.

Sheppard has only four tackles this season, but he'll get his first career start at 1 p.m. Saturday in Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Meanwhile, Herring said he's not sure whether Olajubutu will play because of a pinched nerve in his neck — a nagging injury that was aggravated in last Saturday's 27-10 win at Auburn.

"He's going to have to let me know after pregame (warmups) whether he can go or not," Herring said of Olajubutu, who leads the Razorbacks with 66 tackles. "He hadn't hit all week."

Olajubutu practiced Thursday, but if he can't go, Herring said freshman Wendel Davis will start at will linebacker. Fayetteville High graduate Mark Bonner would serve as Davis' backup.

Cornerback Darius Vinnett missed practice Thursday because of swelling in his surgically repaired knee. His status for Saturday is also a game-time decision, Herring said.
