Hogs Add Another Commitment

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas defeated Auburn for the second time in the month of October on Tuesday when the Razorbacks got a verbal commitment from Dora (Ala.) defensive end Chavis Williams.

Williams (6-foot-6, 220 pounds, 4.6 40-yard dash) becomes the 13th oral pledge for the Razorbacks' 2007 recruiting class. National signing day is Wednesday, Feb. 7. Verbal commitments are non-binding.

"I am totally committed to Arkansas because they were the first ones to get on me when nobody else cared and was showing any love," Williams told Hawgs Illustrated's Dudley Dawson. "Coach (Mike) Markuson believed in me and I am going to reward him for that. The fact that they are blowing up now just makes it that much better."

Williams, who has 8 sacks among his 81 tackles this season, got his offer from Arkansas in the past week and was also getting interest from Auburn, UAB, Alabama and Marshall.
