Hogs Miss Early Chance

A key moment early in Saturday's game when Arkansas was unable to answer Florida's field goal.

The Razorbacks drove from their 30-yard line to the Florida 22, then lost a yard before Jeremy Davis missed a 40-yard field goal try narrowly to the right, as Arkansas remained behind 3-0. "We had a slow start and knew we weren't playing our best ball," Hogs tailback Darren McFadden said. "Florida has one of the top rushing defenses in the country. We knew we had to make adjustments at halftime and play harder in the second half." Arkansas coach Houston Nutt said, "Give Florida credit. They did a great job of getting off blocks. They crowded us -- everyone has crowded us this year -- but Florida did a great job." The Gators held Arkansas to 132 yards rushing on 35 carries -- fewer than four yards per carry. Florida kicker Chris Hetland was just 3-of-12 on field goals going in while Davis was 6-of-11, but Hetland made his early try and Davis missed his. The Gators went on up 17-0 before Arkansas eventually took a 21-17 lead. Florida reasserted itself to win by 10.
