Arkansas Loves No. 18

Jermaine Love (5-11, 225, 4.46), a linebacker who has been a private commit to the University Arkansas since his official visit back in December, announces publicly Thursday night that he will be a Razorback.

Nothing like adding some Love to the University of Arkansas' 2007 recruiting class - especially when its some hard-hitting Love.

Garland (Texas) North Garland linebacker Jermaine Love (5-11, 225, 4.46) did just that publicly Thursday night when he announced he was going to be a Razorback and beame the UA;s 18th pledge.

Love, who announced at halftime of the Offense-Defense All-Star game in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., had committed to Arkansas privately during his official visit to Fayetteville on Dec. 13-15.

"I just loved everything about Arkansas," Love said back after his visit. "I feel comfortable with the coaches and the players and know that I can come in and have a chance to play right away if I work hard. I am going to love being there and playing for them."

Love, who had a school-record 135 tackles and 98 while playing seven games as a senior, made it clear why he was chose Arkansas over Nebraska, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

"I love their defense and I love their coaches," Love said. "I will be headed there to help show what the Hogs can do.

..."It's the way they play defense with a passion," Love added "A passionate player needs to go to a passionate defense."

Love joins Jenks (Okla.) star Tim Dial and Morrilton standout Freddy Burton as linebackers committing to the Razorbacks in the 2007 class.

Love is ranked as the No. 23 middle linebacker in the country by Scout.com.

"I love to hit," Love told the Garland News earlier this season. "My favorite thing about playing football is hitting and more hitting. On a typical play all I can think about is how hard I'm going to hit somebody and my motto is to arrive with anger."
