Diamond Hogs Home Opener Pushed Back

FAYETTEVILLE -- Mother Nature has decided to keep the excitement and buildup going just a little bit longer.

As much as the Arkansas Razorbacks and their flock of baseball fans are anticipating the 2007 season -- and this weekend's home opener series against Wisconsin-Milwaukee -- the weather has other plans.

At least for a day.

Because of the snowfall late Wednesday and into Thursday in Northwest Arkansas -- coupled with freezing temperatures which made the Baum Stadium field unplayable -- the start of the series between the Hogs and Panthers has been moved back a day.

Instead of the normal Friday through Saturday series, Arkansas and Wisconsin-Milwaukee will now play at Saturday through Monday set. The game times for Saturday and Sunday, 2:05 p.m. and 1:05 p.m., respectively, will remain the same, with Monday's game also scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. first pitch.

Arkansas is coming off a 4-2 road swing to open the season, winning two of three games at both Louisiana Tech and Troy.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee has yet to play this year.
