Lefties Nick Schmidt and David Price were supposed to put on a pitching exhibition, but it never materalized. Instead, it took a sacrifice fly by Logan Forsythe to deep center field to score Sean Jones from second in the 10th inning to capture the imagination of the 9,078 fans in Baum Stadium. ON SATURDAY Vanderbilt 6, Arkansas 3 Razorbacks right-hander Duke Welker pitched his best game of the season, only to see his efforts disappear in a wild eighth inning. In that inning, Forsythe committed an error, Welker threw two wild pitches and Hogs right fielder Brad Secrist misplayed a fly ball which resulted in a three-run, inside-the-park home run. ON SUNDAY Arkansas 8, Vanderbilt 3 Brian Walker and Jess Todd shared the limelight as the Razorbacks won their first Southeastern Conference home series of the season. Walker jerked a fifth-inning grand slam into the Arkansas bullpen and Todd pitched six strong innings of relief to earn the victory. Arkansas pounded out 14 hits off of six Vanderbilt pitches in front of 7,985 fans. 3-UP 1.Todd worked a career-high six innings. 2.
