Arkansas Baseball Postponed

FAYETTEVILLE — Forecasted rains and cold temperatures forced the postponement of Arkansas' Southeastern Conference baseball game against Florida on Friday.

The two teams will attempt to play a doubleheader beginning at 2:05 p.m. today in Baum Stadium. With the postponement, Arkansas will be allowed to shift its pitching rotation back to normal. Junior Nick Schmidt — the Razorbacks' normal starter in SEC series openers — was slated to pitch the second game of the Florida series. Schmidt will now instead pitch today's first game, with Duke Welker expected to throw in the nightcap, slated to start 45 minutes following the conclusion of the first contest. Tickets for Friday night's postponed game will not be honored for today's doubleheader. Today's 2:05 p.m. game can been seen live on Cox Sports, channel 119 in Northwest Arkansas. The second game will not be seen on TV, but Sunday's 12:05 p.m. series finale will appear on Cox Sports as well.
