Sanchez' Tour

Springdale Har-Ber forward Michael Sanchez (6-8, 220) takes a visit to Arkansas, is currently on one to Wake Forest and ahs plans to trek to Kentucky and Colorado before announcing a decision before May 16th.

With a stated intention of having a decision made before the spring signing period ends on May 16, Springdale Har-Ber forward Michael Sanchez is now on a world tour of sorts.

Sanchez (6-8, 220) visited with University of Arkansas coaches for third time in two weeks on Wednesday night and left Thursday afternoon for an official visit to Wake Forest.

He also has plans to squeeze in official visits to Kentucky and Colorado before making a decision.

"I am planning on having a decision made before May 16 so I have to see a lot between now and then," Sanchez said Thursday afternoon. ‘I just want to make sure I make the right decision."

No doubt many Razorback fans hope that will be to stay home since Sanchez, who is fully healthy now, has shown recently in AAU tournaments that he is now the player most thought he would become as a sophomore.

New UA head coach John Pelphrey certainly seems enthralled with the prospect and has taken every opportunity he can to see Sanchez play AAU games and visit with him personally.

"I went up there last night (to the UA campus) and just really had a great time with them," Sanchez said. "I was up there from around 5 p.m. until 10:30.

"Coach Pelphrey and his staff have done a great job of making me feel very comfortable around them, making me really feel at home, and letting me know how much they want and need me."

Sanchez is also still considering offers from Kentucky – whose new staff was recruiting him at Texas A&M - and Colorado, who has just jumped into the picture lately.

Sanchez actually remains committed to going to Findley Prep in Las Vegas at the moment, but obviously that decision is not as firm as it once was.

"I'm still thinking on that – whether to go to prep or go on to college, Sanchez said. "I'll have all those decisions made by the 16th."
