Nathan's Finest

Bentonville wideout Nathan Hughes (6-0, 170, 4.4) has an offer from Army and interest from other schools such as Arkansas and Tulsa.

Bentonville wideout Nathan Hughes has his future all right in front of him.

No doubt that's the pitch Army is using in hoping he will come play college football for them, but Hughes (6-0, 170, 4.4) also is getting interest from schools like Arkansas and Tulsa.

"I was at the Tulsa camp and Army called and told me that they wanted me to come up for their first game and that I had a scholarship," Hughes said. "I'm excited about that but I am also interested in Arkansas and Tulsa and they re showing interest in me."

He's been to both a Tulsa team and receiver camp and will be on hand July 21 for the Arkansas Seniors Only camp with a chance to impress the Razorback staff.

"Arkansas (offensive coordinator) assistant David Lee and I have been talking and texting and he wants me to come up to their camp," Hughes said. "They want a better chance to evaluate me and I am very interested in Arkansas.

"…Tulsa is also talking about a possible scholarship so that is exciting," Hughes said. "I've enjoyed talking to Coach Malzahn."

He's also been to camps this summer at Missouri and Texas A&M.

"I ran a 4.51 at the Missouri camp, but I ran a 4.4 three straight times at our school," Hughes said.

Hughes caught 27 passes for over 600 yards and dented the end zone eight times – including twice on kick returns.

He accounted for over 1,200 all-purpose yards as a junior for Bentonville head coach Barry Lunney, Sr.

"We've got a lot of players coming back and a great coach in Coach Lunney," Hughes said. "He's done a great job in turning the program around and getting the fans all excited about Bentonville football."
