Robinson's A Razorback

The University of Arkansas doubles up on Monday when Alabama prep cornerback Marcal Robinson (6-0, 168, 4.4) picks Arkansas over Auburn and Louisville and joins Kentucky prep free safety Winston Guy (6-3, 195, 4.35) to give the Razorbacks 18 commitments in the 2008 class.

The University of Arkansas commitment bus just keeps on rolling.

Just a couple of hours after the Razorbacks landed Kentucky prep safety Winston Guy (6-3, 195, 4.35), Alabama prep cornerback Marcal Robinson (6-0, 168, 4.4) jumped on board as well.

Robinson, who stars for Pritchard (Ala.) Vigor, chose Arkansas over Auburn and Louisville and a host of other schools.

"Arkansas just made me feel welcomed and very wanted," Robinson said. "They came down here and offered me face-to-face and that meant a lot to me. Anybody can send one in the mail, but it was very impressive to me for their coaches to come to my school and basically say "we really want you."

Robinson, who gives UA assistant Mike Markuson a lot of credit for getting on him early and making him feel special, is excited about the opportunity to play the Razorbacks' man-to-man press coverage.

"That's what I do the best is play man-to-man," Robinson said. "You can always get better at everything, but I feel like I gave great coverage skills and work hard at what I do."

Robinson knows that Arkansas has been racking up the commitments in the past week or so.

"They are on fire," Robinson said. "I know that I am number 18 and they've had like 9 in 10 days. That makes you feel like something special is going on up there and everybody wants to get in on it."
