Landing Brown

Arkansas hopes to add Cedar Hill (Texas) cornerback Greg Brown (5-11, 165, 4.4) to its already impressive 2008 recruiting haul.

There's very little question that the University of Arkansas would like to double up on its Cedar Hill (Texas) High cornerback collection.

The Razorbacks already have sophomore Jerell Norton set to start this upcoming season and have targeted Greg Brown as one of their 2008 recruiting priorities.

Brown (5-11, 165, 4.4) – who was in Fayetteville for the July 21 Seniors Camp - said that is something he is definitely considering with UA assistant Bobby Allen heading up his recruitment.

"I really loved what I got to see at Arkansas," Brown said. "They have great facilities, I really like their coaches and it is a great atmosphere up there."

Arkansas joins Kansas, Missouri, Houston, Boise State, Kansas State and Virginia among the schools that Brown is currently considering.

Brown, who has some 14 offers already, notes that he thought about going ahead and committing to Arkansas, but is taking some time.

"My parents and I have talked it over and the only thing that has me thinking is that they already have two cornerbacks committed in this class," Brown said. "So I am kind of thinking things over and it's kind of unpredictable on when I might decide something."

He does think that Arkansas' press man coverage fits his style.

"I think my strength is my bump and run coverage," Brown said. "I think I have very good coverage skills and a very good tackler. I think you can always get better and I work hard each day to try and do that."

Cedar Hill is coming off a magical 15-0 season in which quarterback William Cole was the focal point.

Brown says this year that the defense will probably come to the forefront.

"Basically we have all of our starters coming back on defense and think we are going to be really, really good on that side of the ball this season," Brown said. "We think we are going to have a very, very good season again."
