White Visits Arkansas

Memphis prep basketball star Terrico White (6-5, 195) - he of the 42-inch vertical and great outside shooting touch - gets in an unofficial visit to Arkansas on Saturday

While a lot of attention was on the University of Arkansas' football scrimmage on Saturday, one of the basketball team's priority recruits was on campus as well.

Terrico White (6-5, 195), a shooting guard from Memphis Craigmont that the Razorbacks covet, took in what the Razorbacks had to offer.

"I really enjoyed it," White said. "The coaches are really cool and I was surprised at how big that weight room was."

White, a phenomenal athlete with a 42-inch vertical jump who is also his school's starting quarterback, blossomed while playing with the M33M Magic AAU team while in Las Vegas in late July.

An Arkansas coach was at each of the six games of M33M Magic, who also had UA point guard commit Terrance Joyner on their squad.

"The fact that it (Arkansas) is close to home and that they have a lot of seniors who will be moving on has me very interested in them," White said.

White, who averaged 22.2 points for Craigmont last season, is looking for two different seasons this school year.

"Our football team is probably going to be bad because we lost a lot of people," White said. "But we should have a great year in basketball."

White has offers and interest in Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis, Valpo and Texas A&M among others.

"I am probably going to narrow it down pretty soon," White said. "I think I will be back on an official visit to Arkansas in September. I think I will sign in the fall."
