Taking it up to nearly the last moments of the November early signing period, Rotnei Clarke now has a choice - the University of Arkansas.
Clarke (6-1, 180) chose the Razorbacks over a final three that also included ORU and Oklahoma State after eliminating schools such as Kentucky, Kansas, Gonzaga and Memphis.
That group was among the 30 that extended scholarship offers to the prospect regarded as the nation's best shooter by most recruiting services.
Clarke, who averaged 37.6 points per game last season and is on pace to be the state's all-time leading career scorer, made the announcement on Tulsa TV station KTUL during their 10 p.m. newscast.
Clarke becomes the fifth recruit that new UA head coach John Pelphrey has landed during the early signing period - which ends at midnight tonight.
He joins point guard Courtney Fortson (5-11, 175) of The Patterson (N.C.) School, the Genesis One duo of forward Andre Clarke (6-10, 205) and Terrance Joyner (6-2, 180) and New Orleans (La.) Holy Cross forward Brandon Moore (6-9, 215).
Hawgs Illustrated is on hand for the announcement and will soon have quotes and picture up from the event.
