Former North Little Rock standout and November signee Andre Clark (6-10, 205) don a Razorback jersey on Thursday for his first full practice with the University of Arkansas.
"It feels so good to have it on," Clark said. "It just feels great."
Clark, aho attended Genesis One Christian School last semester, signed with the Razorbacks during the early signing period.
He was a good player for the Charging Wildcats, but blossomed over the summer while averaging 25 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Arkansas Hawks during the AAU season.
He ended up choosing Arkansas over Oklahoma, Kentucky, Indiana and others.
After shoring up his academic situation, he was able to go ahead and enroll at the UA for this semester and be able to practice with the Razorbacks.
He will not play any games this season, but likely be a better player next season because of his decision to pay his own way this semester and thus get to practice with the current UA players.
"I think it is going to help me tremendously because I am here and I am getting to play with so much talent," Clark said. "This will give me a feel for what it is like in the SEC and will also help me academically get a start."
Clarke got the word last week, but had to wait a few days for everything to be all clear.
I got cleared about five days ago, but I needed to do some school stuff and get some paper work done before I could start practicing," Clark said. "(UA compliance director) Mr. Marvin (Caston) gave me the go ahead and it was a great feeling."
He found out quickly how much harder a college workout is than a high school one.
"My first practice was Tuesday and it was very hard on me," Clark said. "I didn't really get to do much with the team. It was more 1-on-1 stuff with the conditioning coach. It was pretty hard. It was just the beginning of a long road for me."
