He's Thinking Red

Nashville tailback DeShawn Scoggins (5-10, 195, 4.4) talks about his weekend visit to the University of Arkansas and how he hopes he gets a scholarship offer from the Razorbacks before Wednesday's national signing date.

Nashville standout DeShawn Scoggins may end up at Tulsa or Memphis or even the Air Force, but there is no doubt his heart is in playing at the University of Arkansas.

Scoggins (5-10, 195, 4.4), a tailback who took his official visit to the UA this weekend, just hopes a spot clears up for him in Fayetteville.

"They didn't offer me yet, but said they were going to keep in touch this week and let me know if something comes available," Scoggins said. "I hope it does."

Scoggins, who rushed for 1,742 yards and 38 touchdowns this season, really enjoyed his visit with new UA head coach Bobby Petrino.

"Obviously the staff is different from when I came up last," Scoggins said. "I really like this staff. I think they are going to build a championship team for the future. I would like to be a part of that."

Scoggins rushed for 4,980 yards and 93 touchdowns in his career, which was capped with a third straight state title in December.

"If it all works out, I would love to play at Arkansas," Scoggins said. "It would be like going from a little family to a big family."
