The Jerico Flip

Arkansas lands one of the country's best athletes in tailback/safety Jerico Nelson (5-10, 205, 4.4) as he flips to the Razorbacks from Purdue

Louisiana prep star Jerico Nelson confirmed via text this afternoon that he has had a change of heart and will sign with the University of Arkansas.

Destrahan standout Nelson (5-10, 205, 4.4), who helped lead his team to a 15-0 record this season, had previously been committed to Purdue earlier this week.

He was a standout running back and safety for Destrahan and has been told he will have the opportunity to play both at Arkansas and also return punts and kickoffs.

Nelson, regarded as one of the state's best two-way players, ran for over 1,300 yards and 32 trouchdowns as a senior.

He had 8 interceptions as a sophomore while playing at River Ridge (La.) John Curtis, where current UA prospect P.J. Smith starred.
