Aaron Murphree drove the first pitch from reliever Aaron Lorio over the wall in dead center for a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give Arkansas a come-from-behind victory over Louisiana Tech.
Murphree's blast followed a one-out walk to freshman Brett Eibner to bring Lorio out of the bullpen. Lorio had not allowed a run in his first three appearances in Tech's 6-0 start.
Murphree delivered an one-run double earlier in the game and leads the Hogs with nine RBI for the season. His two-run homer on Saturday was the difference in the Hogs' victory over Wright State.
The Hogs led most of the way, but trailed after Tech scored three times in the top of the seventh for an 8-7 lead. UA reliever Travis Hill, 1-0, halted that Tech rally with the final out, then recorded the side in order in the ninth.
Logan Forsythe delivered a two-run double to the wall in right to start the UA scoring. Eibner added a bloop single to right for two more runs. Ryan Cisterna added a two-run homer as the Hogs jumped to a 6-3 lead.
Arkansas, now 5-0, will face host Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the second game of the tournament. The Hogs will close the tourney on Sunday against Ohio State.
Arkansas 9, Louisiana Tech 8
