There is a well-known exit in Northeast Arkansas - not too far from Memphis - that has been dubbed the Turrell Twist.
They had one of those in West Helena on Thursday as well.
Turell Williams, a 6-2, 215-pound running back/linebacker from West Helena Central who got an offer from the University of Arkansas on Wednesday, flipped to the Razorbacks Thursday afternoon from a previous pledge to Ole Miss.
"Both are great schools and have great coaching staffs, but I have just always grown up a Razorback fan and know that I have the chance to go there I figure I should take it," Williams said. "It was tough to let (Ole Miss head coach and former Arkansas head) Coach (Houston) Nutt know, but it's the right decision for me."
Williams joins West Helana cornerback Darius Winston (6-0, 175, 4.38) and Fayetteville offensive lineman Colby Berna (6-4, 275) to give the Razorbacks three 2009 commits so far.
"Darius is like my brother and he's really been working on me all day and night about coming to Arkansas with him," Williams said. "We think we can help them do some great things up there."
Williams chose the Razorbacks over the Rebels and an offer from TCU that also arrived this week and was also drawing interest from Tennessee, Memphis, Vandy, Alabama and Mississippi State.
Williams amassed over 1,500 all-purpose yards last season while amassing 22 touchdowns.
"I am working on getting quicker feet and my cutting, but I run the ball really tough and feel like I do a good job catching the ball out of the backfield," Williams said. "I feel like my tough running and the way I catch the ball out of the backfield really fits our style well."
