Hogs Step up for Wegher

Last week the Arkansas Razorbacks pulled down a commitment from West Helena running back Turell Williams and this afternoon they entered the mix for Iowa's top back, Brandon Wegher.

Brandon Wegher, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back from Bishop Heelan High in Sioux City, Iowa is one of the most highly sought after recruits in America.

He now holds offers from schools like Arkansas, Auburn, Penn State, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, San Diego State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Clemson, and Minnesota.

Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Florida, and Missouri are alos showing a strong interest.

Wegher was recently on campus in Fayetteville for an unofficial visit and reportedly enjoyed the facilities on campus and get a good feeling for new head coach Bobby Petrino.

Wegher is also a standout on the track and has already posted a blistering 6.99 60-meter and a 10.6 100-meter this year. The talented tailback has run a 4.43 40-yard dash and posted a 4.48 at a Scout.com Combine as a sophomore.

As a junior, Wegher rushed for the ball 286 times for 2,334 and 34 touchdowns.
