Diamond Hogs Notebook

Windy City Sunday definitely wasn't a day worth remembering out in left field for Arkansas freshman Jacob House. Constantly confused by the howling winds at Baum Stadium, House misplayed several fly balls and it cost the Razorbacks on more than one occasion.

In the top of the third inning, House was solely responsible for two Tennessee runs when he allowed a two-out routine fly to drop in for a double. Three singles later, the Vols had a 3-1 lead instead of a 1-1 tie.

"House struggled big time out there," Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. "He let that one ball drop and we had that one collision where they both said they were calling for it. You know, that was pretty dangerous and that's what happens sometimes when you have a couple of freshmen out there."

The collision was between House and center fielder Brett Eibner. It occurred in the top of the eighth inning and for a brief moment put a scare in the Baum Stadium crowd as Eibner appeared shaken up before shaking it off.

"House isn't known for great defense, he's known for his bat," Van Horn said. "He's a two-way guy, a first-baseman/outfielder and hopefully he'll work on both and get better at both."
