Swanson's A Razorback

Arkansas gets it second offensive line commit and ninth prospect overall in the 2009 class when Kingwood (Texas) High standout Travis Swanson (6-5, 288) chooses the Razorbacks.

After a few days at the lake, Kingwood (Texas) High standout Travis Swanson was sure of what he wanted to do.

That - according to the 6-5, 288-pound offensive lineman - was to be a Razorback.

So he let the University of Arkansas coaches know and then headed out to two-a-days.

"I visited a lot of places and had a lot of great offers, but Arkansas was really the only place that I got to that it just seemed like Kingwood," Swanson said. "It just felt like home and it has great coaches and great facilities. I just went to the lake, thought about it for a couple of days and am sure I want to be a Razorback."

Swanson becomes the ninth UA 2009 commit and joins Fayetteville's Colby Berna as offensive linemen who have verbally pledged to ink with the Razorbacks.

The fifth Texas prep star among the 9 future Razorbacks, Swanson chose Arkansas over co-finalist Texas Tech, Kansas, Arizona, Houston and Army.

"I feel like I have put in a lot of time on my decision and feel great about it," Swanson said. "It's the place where I want to play my college football."

Swanson got his offer soon after a solid performance at the UA One-Day Camp back on July 19.

He now turns his attention to his high school season.

"Man, was it hot out there today," Swanson said. "But we feel really good about the work we are going to put in and our chances this season."
