Iron Bowl Could Bump Arkansas-LSU Game

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas and LSU have traditionally faced each other the day after Thanksgiving for the Golden Boot trophy, but there will likely be a change of plans.

CBS Sports announced Friday that it will televise the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn on the Friday after Thanksgiving over the next two years.

Kickoff for next season's game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 in Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium.

CBS has annually televised the Arkansas-LSU game at 1:30 p.m. on the day after Thanksgiving, but Friday's announcement raises the likelihood that the battle for the Golden Boot will get bumped from its traditional time slot.

Arkansas' game at LSU for the upcoming season is scheduled for Nov. 28. Arkansas officials said Friday evening that they don't intend the game to be moved.

Since 1996, the Arkansas-LSU game has been penciled in for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, only for the two schools to announce prior to the start of the season that the game has been moved to a Friday.
