Inside Pitch

Just One Mistake Dallas Keuchel had one of his better pitching outings Friday. If he just hadn't thrown in that one big mistake.

Keuchel walked two of the first three batters he faced, then gave up a three-run home run to Bryce Massanari which gave Georgia a 3-1 lead in the first inning. But after allowing the early 3-run blow, the junior lefthander was pretty much solid in allowing no more runs on just five hits in his final 6 1/3 innings of work.

"He was great," Georgia coach David Perno said. "I thought it was really impressive the way he settled in after that first inning. We had chances, but we didn't take advantage of it.

It's Been Awhile

If it feels like Arkansas hasn't grabbed the first lead in a baseball game in a long time, that's because the Razorbacks haven't. At least not until Friday.

Arkansas took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning against Georgia on a Ben Tschepikow solo home run. It was the first time the Hogs had gained the opening lead in a game this month, breaking a streak of nine straight games they had been forced to play from behind. In fact, the last time Arkansas took to first lead was Mar. 31 at Missouri State.

Friday Night Facts

Tschepikow belted his eighth homer of the season Friday, but his first since March 20 at Auburn... Arkansas has now lost three straight games against Georgia... Mike Bolsinger took the loss in relief, his second loss in a row after starting the season 3-0... James McCann made his first start at catcher in SEC play.
