Former Stars Commit to Burlsworth Camps

Former Razorbacks continue to return to Harrison and Little Rock to help with the Brandon Burlsworth football camps.

Brandon Burlsworth inspired countless thousands throughout his Razorback football career. Even after his untimely death in 1999 his example continues to inspire young and old alike.

Through the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation many underprivileged children have been given the opportunity to experience Razorback football up close. The foundation takes that concept to a new level with the annual football camps.

Brandon Burlsworth Football Camps are coming up and are set for June 5th and 6th. These camps will feature many former Razorback football greats such as Joe Dean Davenport, Anthony Lucas, Oscar Malone, Grant Garrett and many more.

The June 5th camp will be held in Harrison at F.S. Garrison Stadium with the June 6th camp at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The camps are open to students who will be entering the 3rd through 9th grade.

This promises to be a fun filled experience for the very young athlete as well as the more experienced junior high player. The younger campers will learn proper technique, which is very important, but also learn that football is a game and should be fun. In the older age groups the instruction will intensify in all phases of the game with each camper receiving more advance technique training.

The fee for the camp is $30.00 for pre-registered campers and $40.00 for day of camp registration. Deadline for pre-registration is May 29th. Registration is available on the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation web site at All proceeds go directly to the foundation's programs for underprivileged children.

Businesses and individuals can also sponsor children who cannot afford to attend on their own. Since these children are the primary focus of the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation, sponsorships are greatly encouraged. You may sponsor children on the foundation web site or call 870-741-1443 for more information.

Campers will need to furnish their own workout clothing, including shoes or cleats, shorts and t-shirt. This is a non-contact camp and no pads or helmets will be worn. Each camp will begin at 8:30am and will conclude with an autograph session at 12:30pm.

For questions regarding the camps you may call 870-741-1443 or log-on the web site at
